Both built in the same factory, on   the same assembly line, by the same workers in Tyler Texas. The only difference is the paint color & the name plates. Which consists of the following freezing, broiling, stressing, dropping, shaking, shocking, & listening to the equipment. Innovation - With over a hundred years in business & a history of well engineered heating & cooling systems earning awards & a reputation for doing things right. American Standard pioneered variable speed technology in 1989. That same innovative spirit lives on today with systems such as the Platinum 18 & 20. Both with 700 speeds to maintain temperature within a 1/2 degree & enhanced humidity control.
